1. Introduction
CryptaCount, Inc. (“we”, “us”) operates the CryptaChain API — a blockchain data infrastructure service accessible at cryptachain.com and dashboard.cryptachain.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.
CryptaChain provides public blockchain data. We serve publicly available on-chain data via API. If you use this data in connection with identified or identifiable natural persons, you are the data controller for that processing and must comply with applicable data protection laws independently.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Account Data
When you register for an API key or create a dashboard account, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Authentication credentials (via OAuth providers — we do not store passwords)
- Company name and role (if provided)
- Billing information (processed and stored by our payment processor, not by us directly)
2.2 API Usage Data
When you make API calls, we record:
- API key identifiers and per-key usage metrics (Compute Units consumed)
- Wallet addresses and contract addresses included in your API queries (these are public blockchain data)
- Request metadata: endpoints called, timestamps, HTTP status codes, response times
2.3 Technical Data
We automatically collect:
- IP address, browser type, operating system
- Dashboard usage patterns and session duration
- Error logs and performance diagnostics
3. How We Use Your Data
We process your information for the following purposes:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the CryptaChain API and dashboard
- Authenticate your identity and manage API keys
- Monitor usage, enforce rate limits and plan quotas, and prevent abuse
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send essential service communications (outage notifications, security alerts, billing)
- Send marketing communications (with your consent only — you can opt out at any time)
- Improve the Service through anonymised, aggregated analytics
- Detect and prevent fraud, unauthorised access, and security incidents
4. Data Sharing & Sub-processors
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following categories of recipients, each under appropriate contractual safeguards:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Infrastructure hosting
- SendGrid (Twilio Inc.): Transactional and marketing email delivery
- Payment processor (Stripe): Payment processing and subscription billing — we do not store your card details
- Analytics (Google Analytics): Anonymised, aggregated usage data only — no personal identifiers
- Law enforcement: When required by applicable law, court order, or binding legal process
5. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you acknowledge this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place with all processors.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Account data: Duration of your account + 30 days post-deletion (to allow recovery)
- API usage logs: 90 days (rolling)
- Billing and tax records: As required by applicable tax law (typically 7–10 years)
- Marketing consent records: Until withdrawal + 3 years (to evidence prior consent)
- Server/security logs: 90 days (rolling)
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information at any time by contacting info@cryptacount.com or through your dashboard settings.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: We honour Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals and the Global Privacy Control (GPC). When detected, we disable non-essential tracking.
8. Cookies & Local Storage
Our website (cryptachain.com) uses the following technologies:
8.1 Strictly Necessary
- Theme preference: Stored in your browser’s localStorage (dark/light mode — not a cookie, no data sent to our servers)
- Region preference: Stored in localStorage (EU/International legal page version — not a cookie)
8.2 Analytics
- Google Analytics (GA4): Sets
_gaand_ga_*cookies to collect anonymised usage statistics (pages visited, session duration, traffic sources). You may opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
The CryptaChain API endpoints and dashboard (dashboard.cryptachain.com) do not use analytics cookies. The dashboard uses only essential authentication cookies required to keep you logged in.
9. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+), role-based access controls, regular security audits, and tamper-evident logging. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continuously review and improve our security practices.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately at info@cryptacount.com and we will delete it promptly.
11. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (including GitHub, payment processors, and blockchain explorers). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before providing any personal data.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via email or dashboard notification. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the last revision. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
