1. Scope & Acceptance
1.1. These API Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CryptaChain API, dashboard, documentation, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).
1.2. By creating an account, generating an API key, or making API calls, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
1.3. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Nature of the Service
2.1. CryptaChain is a blockchain data infrastructure API. The Service provides programmatic access to publicly available blockchain data, including wallet balances, transaction histories, token metadata, cost basis calculations, and counterparty screening results.
2.2. CryptaChain does not provide advice. No output of the Service — including cost basis calculations, risk scores, or transaction classifications — constitutes accounting, tax, legal, financial, or compliance advice.
2.3. No custody or transactions. CryptaChain does not hold, custody, or control any crypto assets or private keys.
2.4. Data controller disclaimer. CryptaChain provides access to publicly available blockchain data. If you use this data in connection with identified or identifiable natural persons, you are the data controller and are responsible for your own GDPR compliance, including entering into appropriate data processing agreements with your own processors.
3. API Access & Keys
3.1. You must register for an API key to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API credentials.
3.2. API keys are personal to your account and must not be shared with unauthorised third parties.
3.3. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
3.4. You must notify us immediately at info@cryptacount.com if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your API key.
4. Rate Limits & Compute Units
4.1. API usage is metered in Compute Units (CUs). Each plan includes a monthly CU allocation.
4.2. Exceeding your allocation may result in throttling (HTTP 429) or additional charges.
4.3. Free-tier sandbox keys are for development and testing only.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
5.1. Access to production-tier features requires a paid subscription.
5.2. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
5.3. All fees are stated exclusive of applicable taxes.
6. Acceptable Use
Your use of the API is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy.
7. Data & Accuracy
7.1. We do not guarantee that any data is correct, complete, or current.
7.2. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of API outputs.
7.3. Our website uses cookies for analytics (Google Analytics GA4). The API endpoints and developer dashboard do not use analytics cookies. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1. CryptaCount, Inc. and its licensors own all rights in the Service.
8.2. You retain ownership of applications you build using the API.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
9.1. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
9.2. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF FEES PAID IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS OR $100.
10. Term & Termination
10.1. You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.
10.2. We will provide at least 30 days’ notice of material changes to these Terms via email or dashboard notification. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CryptaCount, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service or API outputs; (b) your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; (c) your use of API data in connection with identifiable persons without appropriate legal basis; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
12. Governing Law
12.1. Governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
12.2. Disputes: exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware.
12.3. CLASS ACTION WAIVER. CLAIMS MAY ONLY BE BROUGHT IN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY.
13. General

13.2. Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CryptaCount, Inc. regarding the Service.
13.3. No waiver. Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
